LA Film Sync Networking Groups for Independent Producers

Los Angeles is the world capital of sync licensing. For a producer, the most effective way to land a placement is to be in the room with the people who make the decisions. These are the networking groups and events that provide the most value for independent electronic artists.

1. Sync Summit LA

This is the premiere event for the industry. It’s a multi-day conference specifically designed to connect artists with music supervisors from film, TV, gaming, and advertising. It features panels, demo sessions, and, most importantly, curated networking events where you can pitch your music directly to the decision-makers.

2. The Guild of Music Supervisors (GMS) Events

The GMS hosts a "State of Music in Media" conference and various smaller seminars throughout the year. While some events are for members only, their public panels are invaluable for understanding what supervisors are currently looking for. It’s also the best place to learn about the "legal" and "business" side of sync directly from the experts.

3. LA Post Production Group (LAPPG)

The LAPPG is a free networking group for everyone involved in post-production, including editors, directors, and sound designers. For a music producer, this is a "side-door" into the industry. By building relationships with editors and directors before they even hire a music supervisor, you can become their "go-to" source for high-quality electronic sounds.

4. MUSEXPO (Burbank)

Known as the "United Nations of Music," MUSEXPO brings together global music executives in Burbank. It has a strong focus on sync and publishing, making it a key event for independent producers who want to build an international network. It’s a more "high-level" business environment, perfect for finding a sync agent or a publishing administrator interleaved.
