Wellness Apps and Resources for Touring Creatives

Maintaining your health on tour is a logistical challenge. Irregular sleep, airport food, and performance anxiety can crush your immune system. These apps are part of my "digital survival kit" for the road.

1. Insight Timer (Meditation)

Unlike other meditation apps that require a subscription, Insight Timer has thousands of free guided meditations. I use it for "Yoga Nidra" (sleep yoga) which is incredibly effective for napping on planes or winding down after a show when your adrenaline is still spiking.

2. Timeshifter (Jet Lag)

Used by astronauts and F1 drivers, this app helps you combat jet lag. You input your flight plan, and it tells you exactly when to seek light, when to wear sunglasses, and when to sleep. Following its "light therapy" protocols can reduce jet lag recovery time by days.

3. ClassPass (Fitness)

Touring often means missing your regular gym. ClassPass allows you to book classes (yoga, spin, gym time) in thousands of cities around the world without a membership. It’s the easiest way to find a workout in a strange city.

4. Tour Health Research Initiative

This isn't an app, but a resource. The "Tour Health Research Initiative" publishes data and guides specifically on the mental and physical health of touring musicians. Their reports on hearing health and sleep hygiene are essential reading for any professional.
